What Makes MAYDI+™ Clinically Proven?
There is a difference between skincare inspired by science and skincare built on it.
At MAYDI+™, the science came first.
Long before there was a MAYDI+™ jar, bottle or even a finished brand, there was research. Our journey began with the study of an extraordinary botanical: Boswellia frereana, a rare species of frankincense known locally as Maydi.
What followed was years of research and development, formulation science and independent testing before we were ready to put the MAYDI+™ name on a product.
Because when we say Your Skin. Our Science. Proven Results., we believe the evidence should be there to support it.
It began with BFE-01
At the heart of every MAYDI+ formula is BFE-01, our proprietary bioactive derived from Boswellia frereana resin.
On the ingredients list, you will find it under its INCI name: Boswellia Frereana Resin Extract.
Our scientists have spent years researching this distinctive botanical and the biological processes involved in the degradation of the skin's structural components.
BFE-01 has been shown to help inhibit the processes associated with collagen breakdown, helping to preserve the structural framework that contributes to skin's firmness, strength and resilience.
This research became the scientific starting point for MAYDI+.
Rather than finding a trending ingredient to add to an existing skincare concept, we started with the bioactive, investigated what it could do, and then built our formulations around that science.
From a bioactive to a complete skincare formula
A powerful bioactive is only part of the story.
Once the research behind BFE-01 had been established, we worked with an award winning UK skincare development laboratory to translate that science into results driven formulations created with the needs of midlife skin in mind.
BFE-01 was carefully combined with complementary actives and botanicals selected for there strong track record for results and according to the purpose of each formula.
Across the collection, these include recognised skincare ingredients such as peptides, hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C, retinoids and ceramides.
The result was five targeted formulations:

Each has its own role within the MAYDI+™ routine, while BFE-01 provides the scientific thread running through the collection.

We tested the formulations before we built the brand
This part of the MAYDI+™ story matters.
Once the formulations had been developed and had completed the required product testing, we wanted to understand how the finished skincare actually performed.
And we wanted the results to speak for themselves.
Before the products had their MAYDI+™ names or final packaging, the formulations underwent independent consumer testing. They were tested without the visual cues of the finished brand, allowing the participants to assess the skincare formulations themselves.
For MAYDI+™, this was an important principle: test the product first, build the brand around proven performance second.
Consumer trials: how does the skincare perform in real life?
Consumer trials allow us to understand something laboratory instruments cannot tell us on their own: what women actually think and feel when they use a product.
Our formulations were independently tested by a consumer panel of 80 women aged 45+ over two weeks.
That age group was particularly relevant to MAYDI+™. Our skincare has been developed with midlife skin in mind, including the changing needs skin can experience around menopause and beyond.
The results gave us confidence that the formulas we had spent years developing delivered benefits women could see and feel.
For example, after using the Renewal Day Cream:
97% said their skin felt less dry
86% said their skin looked and felt smoother
83% said their skin felt firmer
83% said skin redness was reduced
But we didn't stop at consumer perception.
Clinical testing: measuring changes in the skin
For our Renewal Day Cream, we took the testing one stage further with an independent clinical trial.
Unlike a consumer trial, where participants report their experience of using a product, clinical testing uses specialist instrumentation to objectively measure changes in the skin.
The Renewal Day Cream was tested on a panel of 30 women aged 35+ over eight weeks, with measurements including skin elasticity, firmness and wrinkle depth.
The results were significant:
Skin elasticity increased by up to 80% after eight weeks.
Skin firmness increased by up to 40% after eight weeks.
And in just four weeks:
Wrinkle depth was reduced by up to 19%.
For us, that 19% matters because it isn't simply someone saying their wrinkles looked reduced. It is a result obtained through instrumental clinical assessment of the skin.
That distinction is central to what we mean by proven performance.
Ingredient science + formulation science + finished-product testing
When evaluating skincare, it is worth asking where a claim comes from.
Is it based on research into an individual ingredient?
Is it something consumers reported after using the finished product?
Or has a change in the skin been objectively measured during a clinical trial of the finished formulation?
